Certified Arborists are credentialed professionals who have achieved a level of knowledge in the art and science of tree care through at least three years of experience and have passed a comprehensive examination. This certification is granted and maintained through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Arborists who receive a certification through the ISA are not required by the government to do so, but many choose to pursue proper certification in an effort to effectively measure their knowledge.
