Glen Harvey

Tree Service Director/ Salesman

Glen, a certified arborist who specializes in tree sales and consulting, also fills the role as director of safety among other fill-in positions. Outside of performing his job duties, Glen enjoys golfing, camping, target shooting during the summer months, and snowmobiling in the winter. Glen's favorite part of working for Firman Tree Service is having the opportunity and encouragement to learn and grow with the company over the years. He also enjoys giving sound, honest advice to our clients to provide them with the best possible service and outcomes.

Toby's days at work are spent leading crews and climbing to remove trees. Outside of work, he is an avid hunter/outdoorsman! Toby likes that his job allows him to see the world from a different angle.

Burt Schmelzenbach

PHC Specialist

Burt, a certified arborist, is a highly knowledgeable team member who specializes in identifying and treating tree diseases. He is a true "tree hugger" and loves to share his knowledge and skills with others in order to keep northern Michigan's trees healthy and beautiful.

Josh Plevinski

Tree Assistant/ Climber/ PHC Assistant

Josh spends his work day taking care of trees through plant health care and helping other climbers in need. Outside of work, Josh enjoys riding his dirt bike, hiking, and disc golf. He hopes to go on a cruise someday and explore the world! His favorite part of working at Firman Tree Service is the people he works with and the opportunity to make our world more beautiful!

Obik, a certified irrigation contractor, directs the irrigation installation crews and troubleshoots systems. Outside of work, he likes to spend his free time fishing. His favorite part of his job is digging!

Sean's responsibilities are to maintain adequate and efficient watering on landscapes. His favorite hobbies outside of work include spending quality time with his family, outdoor activities, and playing hockey. Sean's favorite part about his job is solving complex problems, maintaining satisfaction, and being able to work in places with a lot of great views.

Mack, an irrigation salesman and technician, is also a certified irrigation contractor. Outside of work, Mack enjoys the outdoors (primitive camping/hiking/kayaking) with his wife and kids, being involved in his local church, traveling/road trips, and deep sea fishing. Mack's favorite part of working at Firman is working with people (both our team and the customers we serve). Whether it be the comradery experienced when tackling a big challenge with the crew, or seeing the smile on a customer's face when we get their irrigation working, people are at the heart of what he does!

Sam is both an irrigation install foreman and technician. Outside of work, Sam enjoys fishing and spending time with his wife. Sam's favorite part of working at Firman is being outside everyday and seeing the beautiful views of northern Michigan!

Daniel, a certified irrigation contractor, works as an irrigation service technician. Outside of work, he enjoys writing, beating his little brother at everything, and traveling northern Michigan with his wife. He appreciates the autonomy his work provides through freedom in problem solving.

Irrigation Apprentice

Mike works with the install crew and is responsible for ensuring efficient setup and maintenance of irrigation systems. Outside of work, Mike volunteers for the local homeless shelter by doing innkeeping, maintaining the property lawn, painting, and some gardening projects. He encourages residents to help them achieve their goals. Mike also enjoys collecting petoskey stones, polishing rocks, camping, and fishing. He loves working with his incredible team everyday. Their support make work fun, and he feels a sense of loyalty working with them and the company.

Rick is an irrigation service technician. He specializes in troubleshooting irrigation issues in order to keep our clients' lawns looking beautiful. Outside of work, he enjoys working on old cars. His favorite part of his job is all of the comradery!

Dave is the owner and founder of Firman Irrigation and Tree Service. He is both a certified arborist and certified irrigation contractor and designer. Outside of work, he enjoys going to the gym, reading, spending time with family, traveling, and adventure. Although he does not work with the crews much anymore, he still loves to climb trees!

Sophia spends her workday putting together the schedule, assisting both customers and employees, and building team morale. Outside of work, she enjoys coaching softball and spending summer in beautiful northern Michigan. Her favorite part of work is listening to employee concerns and creating solutions to build company morale and providing customers with great service!

Outside of performing payroll and maintaining the accounts, Jenny enjoys working in her yard and taking her side-by-side for rides down trails. Jenny's favorite part of working at Firman is learning the financial side to running a business and being able to help customers with their invoicing questions.

Steve works to maintain/repair all of the company equipment and vehicles. Outside of work, he enjoys hunting, camping, hiking, hobby farming, and working with his saw mill. Steve enjoys the responsibility that his job requires and works to keep equipment downtimes to a minimum.

Ken spends his work day sizing and trimming saw logs, processing firewood, and assisting tree crews. He also delivers firewood, woodchips, and mulch. Outside of work, Ken enjoys hunting and fishing with his grandkids . Ken's favorite part of working at Firman is being able to work by himself and seeing a nice load of saw logs go out!

Pickles runs the show. From supervising at our shop, hanging out under our saplings waiting to be planted in your yard, and sneaking into trucks in attempt to join the crews, Pickles is always working hard, or hardly working? All we know is that Pickles gets paid on the daily with love and attention and food from everyone of us.
